Top 6 Companies Face Market Cap Decline in the Past Business Week

TCS, HUL, and Infosys witnessed the maximum loss in market cap as the top 6 companies in India saw a sharp decline in the last week.

Top 6 Companies in India Witness Sharp Decline in Market Cap in Last Week

  • The combined market cap of top 6 companies in India dropped by 83,637.96 crores in the last week.
  • TCS witnessed a decline in market cap by 35,694.04 crores, while HUL saw a drop of 18,949.45 crores.
  • Reliance Industries (RIL) witnessed an increase in market cap by 18,233.31 crores in the last week.

During the previous business week, six out of the top 10 companies in the country experienced a decline in their market capitalization. The combined market cap of these top 6 companies has decreased by INR 83,637.96 crores. Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), Hindustan Unilever (HUL), and Infosys faced the highest losses during this period.

TCS Market Cap Decline

Meanwhile, during the previous business week, the BSE benchmark Sensex witnessed a gain of 78.52 points or 0.12 percent. Similarly, the NSE Nifty also saw an increase of 29.3 points or 0.15 percent. During this period, the market cap of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) decreased to INR 35,694.04 crores, reaching INR 11,74,720.15 crores. On the other hand, Hindustan Unilever (HUL) witnessed a decrease in market cap to INR 18,949.45 crores, reaching INR 6,19,281.77 crores. Infosys’ market cap decreased to INR 13,549.34 crores, remaining at INR 5,25,374.14 crores.

SBI Market Cap Decline

State Bank of India (SBI) witnessed a decline in its market cap, reaching INR 7,675.16 crores and totaling INR 5,16,378.05 crores. ITC’s market cap decreased to INR 5,903.31 crores, reaching INR 5,44,906.44 crores. Bharti Airtel’s market cap decreased to INR 1,866.66 crores, reaching INR 4,64,396.71 crores.

Reliance’s Market Cap Increase

On the other hand, during the previous business week, Reliance Industries (RIL) observed an increase in its market cap. Reliance’s market cap increased by INR 18,233.31 crores, reaching INR 9,00,181.52 crores. HDFC’s market cap increased to INR 1,055.33 crores, reaching INR 4,89,196.37 crores. HDFC Bank’s market cap increased by INR 2,459.29 crores, reaching INR 9,00,181.52 crores. ICICI Bank’s market cap increased by INR 664.9 crores, reaching INR 6,55,862.83 crores.

Top 10 Companies

Among the top 10 companies in the country, Reliance maintains its first position. It is followed by TCS, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, Hindustan Unilever, ITC, Infosys, State Bank of India, HDFC, and Bharti Airtel.
